Prayer to Mary, the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the United States
Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in Heaven, who chose Mary as the fairest of your daughters; Holy Spirit, who chose Mary as your Spouse; God the Son, who chose Mary as your Mother, in union with Mary we adore your majesty and acknowledge your supreme, eternal dominion and authority.
Most Holy Trinity, we put the United States of America into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may present the country to you. Through her we wish to thank you for the great resources of this land and for the freedom which has been its heritage.
Through the intercession of Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church in America. Grant us peace. Have mercy on our president and on all the officers of our government. Grant us a fruitful economy, born of justice and charity. Have mercy on capital and industry and labor. Protect the family life of the nation. Guard the precious gift of many religious vocations. Through the intercession of our Mother, have mercy on the sick, the tempted, sinners – on all who are in need.
Mary, Immaculate Virgin, our Mother, Patroness of our land, we praise you and honor you and give ourselves to you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us, that acting always according to your will and the will of your divine Son, we may live and die pleasing to God. Amen.

Subject: Poem for our Veterans
In celebration of War Veterans
The USS Battleship and Air force One dazzling with Red, White, Blue took you to lands far.
You sailed out on June 17, 1917, to protect freedom.
You reached Hiroshima, ran to Nagasaki, swam to Korea, flew to Vietnam,
landed in Afghanistan, trekked to Iraq, rolled down the Gulf Coast.
Breathing vapor, you swallowed sleepless nights under desert soil, ate ants for dinner.
You plodded through deep dismal swamps, thick dark forests dodging booby traps.
You returned home with the red, white, and blue flag unstained.
We celebrate you with fluttering flags, hot dogs, and a beer.
We welcome the epaulets on your shoulders, wrinkles on your face, the fatigues you proudly wear.
Because of you, we breathe freedom.
Robert Graves, Van Dyke, Foster, Herbert, Owen, America, and the Knights of Columbus salute you today.
Stand with Lincoln, Truman, Roosevelt, Nixon, JFK, Washington, JFK, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama, and America.
Stand with the world!
Stay up for justice!
March for freedom.
America loves you!

We will never forget that
you were in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Gulf Coast, elsewhere.
You sailed out on June 17, 1917, to protect freedom.
The USS Battleship, Air force One dazzling with the Red, White and Blue took you to
communities far, unknown to you and others.
You met comrades
You freed people in bondage.
Lying in bunkers, rough turf, you fired, returned fire.
You swallowed sleepless nights under hot desert sands breathing vapor, eating ants for dinner.
You plodded through deep dismal swamps, thick dark forests dodging booby traps.
You came home with the red, white and blue flag unstained.
This November 11, we welcome you with fluttering flags, hot dogs, a cake and a beer.
We recognize the epaulets on your shoulders, the wrinkles on your face, the fatigues you
proudly wear.
Because of you, because you sacrificed your life me,
we now breathe freedom.
Robert Graves, Van Dyke, Foster, Herbert, Owen, America, and the Knights of Columbus salute
you today.

Stand with Truman,
Stand with Roosevelt, Nixon, JFK, Washington, JFK, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama, Biden,Trump

The 'Traveling Gavel' is a program designed to help Councils of the Knights of Columbus to have more interaction and build ties between parishes. It starts from the State meetings, and they are presented to the District Deputies, who then presents it to a Grand Knight of one of his Councils, and then it is passed from Council to Council through the year, and returned at the mid-year meeting.
